Benny the Brave Balloon
(With a matching coloring page idea at the end)
Once upon a time,
in a cheerful little toy shop, there lived a bright red balloon named Benny. Benny had a big round smile and dreamed of floating higher than any balloon had ever floated before.
Every day, Benny watched other balloons go home with children and fly off into adventures. But Benny was always left behind. “I want to see the world!” he’d say, bouncing gently in his basket.
One day, a little girl named Mia came into the shop with her grandpa. She saw Benny and smiled. “This one, Grandpa! He’s smiling at me!” So they bought Benny, and off they went.
As they walked home, a big gust of wind blew—and Benny slipped from Mia’s hand!
“Benny!” Mia called out, but Benny floated up, up, up!
At first, Benny was scared.
“I didn’t mean to leave so soon!” he squeaked.
But then… he floated past rooftops, trees, and even a butterfly. He saw a cat sunbathing and children playing in a park. “Wow,” Benny said, “the world is even bigger than I thought!”
Suddenly, a bird flew by. “Hello up here!” chirped the bird.
“Hi! I’m Benny the Balloon!” he shouted back.
“You’re brave to be up so high,” said the bird. “Most balloons get scared.”
“I was scared,” Benny admitted, “but now I’m excited!”
Just then, Benny felt himself drifting down. The wind was slowing.
He floated gently… and softly landed in a cozy backyard—Mia’s backyard!
“Benny!” Mia cheered.
“You came back!”
Grandpa smiled. “Some balloons are extra special.”
And from that day on, Benny floated proudly in Mia’s room, full of stories and smiles
